What time is Light Up The Woods 2025
From 4:00pm on Saturday 15th November at Cliffe Woods, Clayton West. 4:00 – 5:00pm is
for those who want to avoid the crowds. The best of the event comes after dark, and it is usually quieter from 7:30 through to 8:00pm
What does it cost?
There is no charge. This is a non-commercial event, but we will welcome donations at the collection points near the entrance.
Do I Need to Book?
At this time we have no booking arrangements for visitors
Is the event fully accessible?
Unfortunately, not. The upper part of the display is served by a wide footpath, but the lower part of the display is only accessible via a set of steps.
Help MAY be available to lift pushchairs down and back up the steps, but anything more than a child’s pushchair would be problematical.
What should I bring?
A smile, but to keep that smile we suggest that you come dressed for the weather and the ground conditions. Wrap up warm and wear flat shoes or boots – there are areas where the ground is uneven. It may be muddy.
You may want to bring a torch (but please no laser pens).
Can I bring my dog?
You can bring your dog, but it must be on a short lead and really needs to be okay with crowds.
Are there Fireworks?
Absolutely not. The event is firework free. The only sounds might be a choir singing and a woodwind band playing. Perhaps some interactive sound displays, but absolutely no fireworks.
Is there alcohol on sale?
No. This is a non-commercial family-friendly event.
Is there food on sale?
The Clayton West Women’s Institute sell teas, coffees and cake in the Bowling Club Pavillion. There are absolutely no plans to commercialise this event, so no ice cream or burger vans will be present.
Will there be glowsticks on sale?
The organisers took the decision that after giving away thousands of glowsticks, that it was not environmentally friendly. So, no, we do not sell any glowsticks.
Is there First Aid on site?
Yes, First Aid is provided by Purple Dog, and supplemented by a number of first aiders on the organising team.
What support is available?
There will be marshals at the bottom of Cliffe Street, at the entrance to the woods, and at several points around the event. They can be approached for help. Or, there will be an event hub in the car park.
