FAQs for Exhibitors
What can we use to make our displays?
You can use whatever comes to hand, if it is recycled, all the better. If it can be recycled after the event, even better still.
The only restrictions are that there must be no glass, and there can be no naked flames in the lighting displays.
How do we light our displays?
There is no mains power available. So, you need to find alternate ways of lighting your displays.
We would suggest battery powered fairy lights, bottle lights, waterproof LED “candles” – there are various types available via online sites.
We would suggest browsing and having a look at what is available – what lighting is available might inform your display.
Do not use glowsticks in any light where the body is diffused by tissue paper. It doesn’t work.
When will we know where our site is?
There will be a site map and key displayed at the entrance to the woods on the day of the event.
Previous exhibitors get preference and often get the same site at each event. If your display has special requirements, please do ask in advance.
Will there be help setting up and dismantling?
Some help may be available, but we have just a few volunteers, so it is best if you can bring your own support team.
How much space will we have for our display?
Within reason, as much as you need. If you are going to bring a lifesize representation of a dragon, it might be worthwhile letting the organisers know in advance – they can then make sure you have a suitable display area.
Is there funding available for exhibitors?
This is something that we have discussed and unfortunately, we simply do not have the funds to subsidise exhibitors. Our income from donations only covers our essential costs and we have no intention of
commercialising the event. As soon as we start to fund and commercialise, the whole nature of the event would change.
